Multiple text messages

My Android sends multiple text messages even though I sent the message once. I called customer service which stated its because of the storm. However now its been a day or two after and I still keep experiencing problems. This problem started a week ago. This is also a brand new phone. Please help me fix this issue. Its really annoying text messages get sent 3 or 4 times.v

I have a Driod Maxx 2. The problem started about a week ago. I am using the standard messaging.

The Droid Maxx 2 is a great device, Jkl3985. Let’s keep your messages as single instances instead of duplicates, or multiples. Does the phone send multiple messages to all contacts, or only specific contacts? How many signal bars on the screen when this multiple messaging issue occurs? What is your ZIP code? I want to confirm that this issue is not coverage related.

Multiple text messages get sent to all my contacts. Doesn't matter who it is. I usually have three or four bars. Area code is 06473. At this point I've called customer service, went to my local Verizon store, and now tried this community forum. At this point, nobody has helped me fix this issue and my phone keeps sending several messages. I am ready to cancel my phone service with you guys.
