My wife's mobile don't Have to dial 1from Home phone to call it.My phone and son phone you have to dial 1 to call!! Why wasn't my account. Changed to this local when my address was changed over a year ago?
Changing an address and changing a phone number are 2 separate functions, many like to keep the old number they're used to that all their contacts know when they move, and if someone wants a new number they can change that also even without an address change.
What phones do both of you use? Sounds like dialing assistant may not be adding the +1 (US country code)
Check your call settings. There's a assisted calling which automatically puts the +1. One may have it on and the other may have theirs off.
Help is here to get the answers that you seek. We want to set the correct expectation level. What you are speaking of is called permissive dialing. In the cellular world your plan dictates long distance. But you may have to dial using 11 or 10 digits depending on location. This doesn't mean that something is wrong. It's just how it works.
