I see usage charges of .00001 GB 3 0r 4 times a day. I called about it and the tech said it was a Verizon search for usage on my router. I think that this should be considered a Verizon responsibility and not a charge to the customer.
The total used by that over the course of a month is not significant, and makes no difference in your bill. Unless you are so close to going over that the tiny bit of data causes an overage....
.00001 GBis like a drop of water in big bucket :smileyhappy:
If the .00001 is a drop in the bucket let Verizon pay for the contents of the bucket. A good service provider would do so.!!
it be 1/100 cent credit or less do you want to prove that by calling csr to show 100 entries to get a $1 credit on your account ...I don't think it be worth :smileyhappy: but up to you....
You pay for a specified amount of data each month - this amount is not impacting your data, and it is not costing you more at all. If you were paying for your data by the kilobyte, or byte, then it might impact your bill. This amount is insignificant.
thank you suzyq ...hopefully OP understand that
To put it another way, if Verizon were to remove those data amounts from your total usage, your bill would not change at all.
I think that this should be the end of this conversation. Obviously you both do not require good services and get taken advantage of quite often. I have been very upset with my service because I have a beeping problem on my voice service, have had LARGE blocks of data usage charged and nothing is being done but lip service.

Aside from the fact it is quite possible the tech is not completely correct, you would have to be dangerously close to your data allowance for this to make a difference. If you figure this to happen 4 times a day(your upper value) and a 30 day billing period, that works out to 0.012 GB in a month, or 1.2 MB in a month.
For example, if you have a 10 GB data allowance, you would have to use more than 9.988 GB before the usage would affect your bill. If you can get THAT close to your allowance without going over, you are a better man than I Gunga Din.:smileyhappy:
Additionally, NO carrier eats the cost of a service. They ALWAYS price the service to include ALL costs to Verizon. You may not always see the cost itemized, but YOU are always paying for the total cost of your service. Verizon, just like any other provider, does not eat the costs.
Kenkuzma, I understand making sure that you are within your allowence is important. Your original question was about .00001GB of data usage being charged. That is not a large block of data, and that's all I was addressing.
This is the first time (in this thread) that you have mentioned a beeping problem, or large blocks of data. We aren't mind readers, and I was only responding to your concern over being charged for .00001GB of data. As rcschnoor pointed out, that is only 1.2 MB max per month, insignificant and will make no difference in your bill.
Beeping - could be due to another caller trying to reach you, a timer that alerts you every minute (an option you can turn on or off), or other alerts that occur while on a call. Does it happen on all calls? At predictable intervals?
unless you're manually turning off your cellular data your phone is in constant communication with the internet. those facebook notifications don't just magically appear. the weather needs to update, the phone needs to check for updates, all those apps need to check for notifications, all emails need to be downloaded, even some picture messages require small amounts of data for transmission.
