Why is some android function disabled?

I am disappointed that some of the Android functions are disabled.

1. Why can't Apps be ran from the micro SD card? Would you not think that people would like the ability to move what they want to the micro SD as they please?

2. No OTG (on the go) support? I myself am a ham radio operator and there are Apps available in the play store to run SDR applications by utilizing a on the go cable.

Verizon branded devices are often far more limited than stock Google devices and devices from other carriers. It's just a thing Verizon does.  No one knows why.
