One contact, duplicate sms conversation threads

Hello,

A weird occurrence happened with my iPhone recently. I received a text from one of my contacts. I went to check the text and there was a duplicate conversation in my phone. Both conversations were nearly identical; one thread omitted a few messages and vice versa. Later, a third conversation appeared. Two of these conversations now only included my responses. The contact that I mentioned is not an iPhone user, so iMessage was not utilized. Both this contact and I use Verizon as our carrier. Since sms is a function of the carrier ( Verizon), I am wondering if anyone can explain this occurrence.

smichnie, this is a mystery to us too! When did this issue start? Which model iPhone do you have? Did you recently update the software on your device?

Try deleting all unwanted text messages, power your device off, and test the text messaging feature again. Keep us posted.
