It's Sunday morning, my phone says it's 8AM, but my computer, my watch, and the radio say it's 7AM. Did Verizon goof in Arizona, and give us an extra hour?
My phone time is right in Arizona, showing 7:08 am....
We have two phones. One says 7:11, the other says 8:11.
Somehow Verizon goofed.
Well, I tried accessing the app store, made and accepted a couple of calls, but it stubbornly refused to change to the correct time. Then, I shut down the phone and restarted it. Now it is showing the correct time.
I'm not sure how it happened, but my phone gets time synchronization from the cells. The only thing I can think of is that Verizon sent out a bogus time update, and it refused to correct itself until after it was shutdown.
Weird.
Are you a time traveler? Good to hear it's working now, jealous that I live somewhere where I have to change the clocks though!
It definitely could have been an error transmitted from the network, particularly if you're in the 'general vicinity' of a state border, but just in case you might want to check your phone settings (especially if it's a smartphone) since they can have a checkbox/toggle in the clock/time setting for the user to select or unselect DST/standard to use depending on where they're using the phone.
That sometimes can cause the time to leap or fall on these special days until the phone clock updates again from the closest cell site, or until you force it to refresh by power cycling.
