My son already broke his new phone and now has a prepaid lg phone that he was going to use. So we put sim card in and it worked fine for one night but now he can't send text or phone calls.
If this is prepaid, and you switch devices, you have to pay for the activation by paying for another month.

Without knowing more of the details, this sounds like an incompatible phone - phone calls and text require a CDMA signal on older phones on Verizon.
