Back to Basic phones..

I'm wanting to remove my eldest sons data plan and in turn, put him and his brother back on basic phones (call/text). I've been searching this Verizon site all over, but find little info on basic phones and cost. Back in the day, there used to be the $9.99 basic plan. Does something like this still exist? All of our plans are free of contract, so I'd like to keep it that way and activate used 'Basic' phones. Any tips?

if you are on family share plan (old one 700, 1400 , 2000, 2100 minute plan) then you can do $9.99 access fee plan for basic phone

We're on the Family Share 700 between the 3 current data phones. We rarely use our minutes, so sharing the 700 between 4 phones would still be fine. The kids data is out of hand, so wanting to revert back to 'basics'.

then you can by calling or online ....if you have unlimited data for his line make sure once you remove it only can be added back in 14 days ......if you have 2gb for his line then you might be paying 9.99+30 for data if yes then go ahead you are good to go :smileyhappy:

Ensuring that you have the best plan for your needs is a must. I personally had to make changes to my plan because my kids were constantly exceeding their data. You do have the option to change your plan and the contract will not extend. The contract only extends if you upgrade or take advantage of a promotion that requires contract extension. From my personal experience (3 years with vzw now), vzw don't stand with their customers so, I would recommend another provider.
