Does not work when charger is connected. If I leave the battery out for 30+ minutes it will turn on with the LG screen the go blank again. What could be the issue? It will not let me hard reset either.
pooseledoo We're sorry to hear your LG is not powering on. Let's see how we can resolve this for you. When did the issue begin? How many different chargers have you tried?

Having the exact same problem with mine.........started about a month ago with software upgrade. Immediately, would not recognize sim card. Purchased new sim card and used software assistant and fixed that problem. Now I was in the middle of using my G3 and it went completely dead.......rebooted and would go to start screen, but never past. Now total brick, no charging light, nothing on screen....battery was at 50% and ive used multiple chargers. Very disappointed a 13 month old $700 phone is now useless. May have to switch to TMobile. My FOUR year old phone I had before still works!!!
TahoeDJ, having a phone that doesn’t turn on can be a nuisance. I rely on my phone for multiple things, as I’m sure you do as well. We don’t want to lose our loyal customers, so let me help bring yours back to life.
Thanks for advising me on the steps you’ve already taken. When was the last time your phone turned on? Have you tried using the Software Repair Tool to fix your device again? Are you getting any errors on the phone or with the repair tool?

I am having the very same problem! I was talking on the device and it shut down, that was Monday 3/28/16 and it will not power back on. I have removed my battery, tried to power it on, connected to Verizon charger...still nothing. The last update caused several problems for my device. I went to a Verizon store where the customer service person reset my phone. Not a factory reset but the other option.
Right now I have no phone.
Can I also get a credit to my account for this inconvenience? I know billing right!?
Hey where are you?
What a disaster, to read about, bluesluver. After another battery pull and reinsertion, while the phone is off the charger,
does the System recovery screen come up when you
press and hold the Volume Down button, then press and hold the Power button?DavidH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupportIf my response answered your question please click the Correct Answer button under my response. I have tried multiple chargers. I brought it to Verizon store and the battery is fine.
The phone was not dropped, soaked, or heated.
It is basically a brick now.
It's stone dead.
THIS IS AN EX-PHONE
I have now shipped mine back to LG after talking with a rep. He made it very clear I will be responsible for the cost of any fixes if it can be fixed. Crossing my fingers that maybe I get lucky and they send me a new one. Also, stopped by a corporate store, FINALLY a store willing to work with me, offered to take my non working LG phone and pay off remaining balance in return for me upgrading and adding a line at $10 a month. Yeah, dont really need an extra line but at least someone is working WITH me. VERIZON you need a better policy for these situations. Regardless I wont be getting an LG phone again, very disappointed. Switching carriers still may be in the works.Verizon Wireless Customer Support
You can try the hardware key reset from powered off status, or use Android Device Manager once the phone is powered on from a desktop Google account ADM page to wipe the phone, resetting it.
poosledoo,
Thanks for sharing those extra details. How was the battery tested exactly? If everything is checking out with the chargers and battery and you're still having trouble then it may be best to have it replaced if within warranty. Are you aware if the device is still under warranty? Our technical support representatives can assist with starting a warranty replacement order by calling 800-922-0204.

My LG G4 just powered off last night in the middle of trying to post to Facebook. The phone will not power back on. It stays "frozen" at the Verizon Logo Screen or the LG G4 Screen. I have to remove the battery to get it to power off. Once battery is back in place, it still will not power back on. I removed the SD card and it came back up for a second and then restarted and froze at the Verizon Logo Screen. This just started happening after the recent system update last week. This phone isn't even a year old yet. I cannot be without my phone as my business depends on it.
Thank you,
Kimberly
Verizon tested my battery with using it to power on an LG G3 within the store. That display phone powered up with no issues.
My warranty expired as my phone died 13 months after purchase.
To me, this seems to be an issue with the LG phone and the software. Also, to reiterate, I can not do a reset on my phone. It will not power on to let it happen.
I'm considering this phone is a lost with no explanation as to why this happens. If this is due to software, or the LG G3 design, am I to pick up the bill for a phone that will not work?
KimSturgill - Time to get your phone up and running. Having a working phone is a must. Especially when your business depends on it. We will be placing your device on Safe mode to see if the same issue occurs. Please power off your device. Press & hold the Volume down button and the power button at the same time until the System recovery screen is displayed then release both buttons. Please select the Safe mode. Use the Volume buttons to highlight the Safe mode option, then press the Power button to select. Your device starts up with Safe mode displayed in the lower left.(this may take about a minute) With Safe Mode enabled, test device and app functionality. If the issue fails to occur, the cause has been isolated to a third-paty application. Power off your device to disable Safe mode. Please let me know the outcome.JacobV_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupportIf my response answered your question please click the Correct Answer button under my response. A month and a half later, my wife's LG G4 will not turn on. Obviously something is wrong with LG and their hardware. I would advise to not buy LG again.
I cant believe I had to buy a phone to replace my G3, and now I must buy another to replace my wife's G4. All are just out of warranty and I still have 10 months on my 2 year commitment.
This is just wonderful!

6/21/2016 Update:
It has been a month since LG has received both my LG G4 and G3 phones.
Customer support takes about 30 minutes for each phone call. It has taken multiple phone calls to move the process along.
This whole process has been a pain. LG wants to charge $196.90 for full refurbishment of the G3. I will not pay that.
Sorry for the whining.
I ASSURE MOST HERE that dead batteries which appear ok, are not/ ive been thru 3 batteries myself because phone didnt see them as compatible. they wore down. also sent g3 twice to lg repairs. once overheating to 79c and other, it bricked.
My phone has been doing the same thing. I have tried taking the battery out and putting it back in then holding down the power and volume down button to get the reset screen and tried to do a factory reset but it won't even stay on long enough to do that. I am EXTREMELY frustrated!!!!

AND BTW........IF BATTERIES CELLS HAVE DEPLETED, IT WONT TAKE CHARGE OR POWER UNTIL YOU GET FACTORY MADE BATTERY REPLACEMENT, OTHERWISE SEEK LG REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY.
CUT YOUR LOSSES, we all do, and invest the repair price elsewhere for upgrade or added device under contract.

Now my replacement for my G3 has died. The replacement phone was a G4 like my wife's.
These LG G series phones will just die on you. And I am stuck for the time being...
