I apologize if this question has been posted before. I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime and I want to know if I can use an MHL adapter and cable to watch movies on my TV. If not, can I use a different method?

Check with Samsung. It's their product and they can give you the specifications.
You can use Mirast or DLNA if your TV supports it.
