Can I reactivate my disconnected US num so I can port to keep this number?

Just recently learned about Google Voice and how you can port and keep your old cell number. I've already moved from US to UK and disconnected my number about 3 weeks ago. Is there a way to reactivate my number temporarily so I can port it? I was part of a larger family plan so the account still exists (which I am still responsible for paying), just my num is disconnected. Any advice would be appreciated!

you need to call to reactivate number if still can be then port out number. disconnected number cant change carrier.

either you need to call or some one authorized on acct can do .but Number has to be active before can be moved to any carrier.
