Month to month discount, website frustration

I've had another phone go out of contract and have been looking forward to applying the month to month discount. I used to do it on the website [yes, it often moved around and was hard to find, but I always could] but now I can't find it for the life of me. That's the beginning of the frustration.

Part II of frustration is that the "chat" option is *never* available, regardless of time of day or day of week - my only option is the "automated assistant" which definitely does not know how to help me. [Chat works for me because I can do other stuff on my computer while I wait for someone, and while conversing with them as they try to service a dozen customers at once :-). Calling 611 means 20 minutes on hold where I have to *listen* and *pay attention* and be bombarded with hold music and promos; not going there.]

So, I plead, if anyone in the community at large can direct me to adding the m2m discount it on the website, I would be most grateful. Or hopefully a VZW rep on the forum will take pity and PM me. Thanks in advance.

Not necessarily. You can switch over to the Verizon plan and the line access fee for out of contract phones is $20 vs $40 for in contract phones. The discount automatically happens on the Verizon plan vs manually adding the month to month on the More Everything Plan.

Of course if you have one of the special data promos Verizon occasionally ran on the More Everything Plan, you may end up better off keeping that. Only you would be able to tell.

What plan are you currently on? If you are currently on the More Everything plan, and want to switch to one of the new Verizon Plans, if you login to My Verizon, then click on the menu (3 lines), then click on My Account & Billing, then choose Manage My Plan, you can make the change there. Choose the data plan you want to switch to, follow the prompts. The monthly line access fee for smart phones is $20.00/device or $10.00 for tablets. I hope this helps some.

Month 2 month discount on More Everything was discontinued for any new adds as of March 10, 2016. If your line has the discount before that date, you keep it, but no new adds for phones coming off contract.

What's frustrating is I've been trying to update this line since February - I hoped the discount's absence on the website was a technical glitch and without chat available, I kept coming back to it the next week. It wasn't until now that I gave up and posted here and now I'm screwed because its after March 10.

I'm on More Everything @ 10GB so the discount makes a real difference; my 4 phones would be 25% cheaper on M2M-discounted More Everything than on a new Verizon plan. 3 discounted and one not is indeed pretty close to breakeven if I move to the new plan, but I'm already in the mindset of having waited moths and years to go off contract so it feels like a loss.

I Hear you! Verizon decided for a money grab month -- loss of $25 month to month discount and adding $20 upgrade fee, even if you pay full price for phone. It is hard to characterize that in any other way other than in your face "because we can" profit grabbing. Thankfully my lines are all off contract, I won't be adding anymore, and I am certainly not buying my next phone from Verizon.

Is this posted or listed anywhere on Verizon's website??

I am receiving $25 line access discount per month because I'm on device payments, but my device will be paid off in May 2016.

I was told once the device was paid off I would still receive a $25 monthly line discount but it would be called a "month to month" discount instead of "device payment" discount.

So does this mean my line access goes up to $40 per month since my device payment discount will be over in May and there is no longer a month to month discount??

According to Weth's statement above, the month to month discount is no longer available to lines coming off contract on the More Everything plan as of 3/10/16.

So is the option to manually add the month to month discount on More Everything no longer available??

Does this pertain to lines coming off device payments??
