can the droid x verizon be used overseas for calling/data/etc?
Where are you going to be traveling to? Verizon wireless may not be available in the country you are headed to. It is always safe to get an international plan of some sort to avoid extra charges
no... it will not... it is not a world phone... no android phone currently sold by verizon is a world phone... it just just a straight CDMA phone.. if you want a phone that works in theUS and internationally and it must be a touchscreen then get a blackberry storm....
PS. a world phone is a phone with both a CDMA and a GSM radio chip in it.. it will have both an esn for CDMA and a sim card for international GSM networks. Verizon will not be using a domestic sim based network until the LTE launch in Q4 in select markets
To qualify as a world phone, you must have both 1) CDMA service and GSM SIM card inside and 2) quad- or tri-band UTMS/CDMA. Bottom line -- you must have the right frequencies first, then proper connectivity to a network on that frequency.
Then what's the difference between a GLOBAL phone and a World phone? I too am going to Europe (Greece) and thought that my Droid Pro would be able to make calls, get calls, get email, etc.
