I have no unread text messages. However the Verizon Messages App desktop icon shows 343. When I open the app, the 343 notification goes away. As soon I receive another text, it displays 343. This is on a iPhone 7 with iMessage disabled.
rbiowa, it's important that the messaging application sets the right expectations when it comes to notifying you of new messages. Did you recently update the software on your device? Did update the software for that Verizon Messaging application? Have you powered your device off/on since this issue started?

This is completely odd rbiowa. We want you to be able to use your phone without the added notifications. Have you attempted to uninstall the Verizon Messages app and then re-install it at all?
