Quit killing them prematurely for starters and let the Android OS manage its own resources as it is designed to do. Next look at your battery usage to determine which applications are using the battery.

lucid 3 lg
The Lucid 3 didn't have a great battery life to begin with. Also, it is almost 4 years old. Maybe you just need a new battery.
