Why can't I upload photos to my MAC?

With the recent "upgrade", I can no longer upload photos from my Samsung phone to my Mac computer. Not with Kies, Smart Switch or any other software I could find. I hate upgrades - somehow something always gets lost in the process. When I plug my phone into my Mac, it doesn't see the phone. The only thing that did happen was Dropbox suddenly opened and said "save your photos" - all of them, no selection, no viewing, so pretty useless. I need the photos off my phone! Help!

Mac computers also might require the Android File Transfer. https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

I've seen others post about this. Pull down the notification panel from the top of the device and change the option from charging only to the option to be able to transfer files or pics. I forget the setting name of hand. But that should be the help you need to resolve your issue. I think this changed post one of the updates.
