Text messages on my iPad

I only get some of the text messages that are sent to my on my iPad.  Similarly, when I text from the ipad some messages are rejected even though the recipient is in my contacts.  The iPad is both wifi and cellular. This was not an issue with my previous iPad.  I cannot seem to locate any setting that would cause the issue. 

Any ideas on how to get all texts on my iPad?

I use texting all the time and we definitely want to make sure you are able to use that function between all of your devices. What model iPad do you have? Are the text messages you are not receiving from android users, or iPhone users? What type of messenger app are you using?
