Whenever I dial the #48 it says it's not 4G LTE. I have zero reception at my house and need to see if I need to switch out.
It is troubling to hear about the issue you are having with the network extender, sth1988, and I would be happy to assist. Let's gather a few clues together to work towards a solution.
Have you attempted to power the phone and extender off/on? Have you added any new apps to the phone since the purchase? Does the phone or extender have any damage at all?
The current incompatibility between the Apple iPhone 7 and the Samsung 3G Network Extender is being investigated. You can try to Reset Network Settings -
1. Settings
2. General
3. Reset
4. Reset Network Settings
OR
Disable Enable LTE and power cycle the device and then re-test. Please reply with your findings. Thank you.

Is this confirmed that there is an issue? I have been having problems as well. Only showing 2-3 bars most of the time, before I upgraded to iPhone 7 it showed straight 5 bars.
That is a good question and I would be more than happy to help. It is important to us that your network extender work properly with your smart phone.
We do not have a reported known issue in regards to the 3G network extender. Just for clarification, have you added any new apps or software updates since purchasing the phone? Have you reset the extender as of yet Connect and Power On - Verizon Wireless Network Extender - 1X/EvDO/Business | Verizon Wireless ?
I don't think it is possible to reset the network extender? I know for sure I can't use wifi calling otherwise it won't connect to extender.
Why Can't you use wifi calling? Which is supported on Verizon and the iPhone 7.
I have battery concerns with the phone constantly searching for signal when it only has 1 bar of LTE, max
If you have internet, using a wifi router, you don't need the extender. Use wifi calling. That is basically what the extender does...connects you to the internet to send/receive Verizon calls/texts.
But what about the battery - when it only has 1 bar of otherwise 1x coverage?
is this 100% confirmed?
Yes.
Indubitably, yes. Confirmed for many months now.
Third yes.
in 95% of cases, the extender is completely unnecessary and redundant with wifi calling. Sell the thing while it is still worth something.
But what about the aforementioned potential battery issue? :smileysad:
There are 2 ways wifi calling does not cause battery usage when in a low signal status. First, since the fall back to wifi calling is VoLTE (Advanced Calling) and this only works on LTE, the phone will stay on LTE and not switch back and forth to 3G and 1X. It is the constant switching that causes a lot of battery usage. The second way is the cellular signal stays in standby mode the whole time wifi calling is on (VZW Wi-Fi in status area). Since all communication is going over wifi, the radio does not need to power up to send signals to check for incoming calls, network status, or outgoing calls. I find my battery lasts much longer when I am in wifi calling mode. It costs nothing to try what we are advising, just try it and prove to yourself one way or the other. I would never consider an extender at this point. Every phone in the family is now wifi calling capable.
I would think wifi calling is better than the network extender. Does it not work for you in your situation?
