Safety Mode speeds

Ive heard differing opinions on how fast safety mode speeds actually are and am wondering if they are indeed as slow as some people state. Currently I'm on Sprint truly unlimited data plan (grandfathered in) that toggles between 4G and 3G data. I'm still able to browse, stream videos, etc with some buffering on 3G. Is the safety mode speed similar to 3G? I honestly don't mind slower than 4GLTE speeds so long as its not like dial up speed.

The expected speed is clearly stated in the Safety Mode FAQs | Verizon Wireless .

I get that but as I stated people have mentioned that their speed is still fast on Safety Mode. I'm looking for practical feedback from those that have experienced it and not some statements made by big red.

I have the 2G new Verizon Plan. After I exhaust the 2G, I get a text that I have done so and am in SAFETY MODE. I can not watch ANY video whatsoever. Also, on my account page, it says that I am running at 2G speeds. I have a Motorola DROID MAXX.

wow thats terrible i thought cellphone data plans would have gotten better since the old days but it seems they have gotten worse. i think ill justt t stay with my old sprint plan
