The current software update gives you the most up to date Android™ security patch on your device.
Was I the only one who got it?
I got it and i now get the hd voice and video calls LGG3
I just got updated to VS98549A, too, this afternoon. Does anyone know what "improvement" or changes this update would give ??
I installed this update and now there are problems recognizing the sd card and not receiving texts.
Since my update I'm having random warnings that my sim card is not recognized. A restart makes it go away and then it happens again. I also have several events where my SD card is not recognized, or it loses its mount over and over when I have done nothing. I also have the camera app repeatedly ask me if I want to store things on the SD card which usually means it lost read of the card and re-established read of it again. Others having this too? I thought my phone was going bad but now I wonder about software....
New updates are suppose to be exciting and not a hassle. Let's get your device back to receiving text and recognizing the sd card. Please tell me more specifics about the SD card and not receiving text messages (any error messages on the device). Also, are you having issues receiving messages from all contacts or specific contacts?

Katrina, this board is full of folks from customer support who ask a single question but then never follow through. My sim card randomly appears to 'disappear' and I get an error that it is no longer recognized. I have to reboot to get it back. It happens all the time, sometimes during a call even! I then get random times where my SD card dismounts on its own and then sometimes will remount later, or sometimes I have to restart. Again no pattern
Same
I appreciate the added details docknibbs. Did this start right after the software update? Have you tried removing the SIM card for a few minutes and retesting?
You can also try resetting the network settings http://vz.to/2fW0YwS to refresh the connection. Keep us posted.

No more issues with texts. Still getting multiple instances daily of SD card unmounting. Works for a little while after restart, then unmounts. SD card is good, tested it in multiple devices. Never had any problems with SD card until immediately after update.
jdalewood, I too have multiple spontaneous mount/unmounts. From what I can tell everyone who tried different cards, reformatting their cards, formatting on a computer, deep format, different format type, then put back in phone, nothing worked. Folks tried root, no root, even factory reset, etc no help. This has to be a software issue after the update.
Do you think if we shared a list of apps that are NOT stock verizon apps that we might find a common thread? Can someone from VZW tell us how to roll back or do other testing with us?
I formatted my SD card on my computer, then put it in my phone (while powered off), powered back on and it wanted me to format/set up the SD card on the phone. I did that and it was reading the card. I then shut down, took out the SD card and loaded files (mp3) on it on my computer. Took it out, put it back in my phone. It read the card when I powered up, could see the files. Then it started the mounting/unmounting again and every few minutes it says it's reading the card, then it was unexpectedly removed...
Yes, problem isn't the card or the format or if you put the card in a computer etc etc, the problem is that the software update messed up the ability to read or mount the card properly. Please help Verizon!!
Jdalewood, the SD card is one of the most important features to any phone. Is there any physical or water damage to the device or SD card slot? Have you tried other memory cards?

Like docknibbs said, the SD card isn't the problem. The SD card has no damage. I don't know if the slot has any damage, I don't see how it could, I hadn't touched it until I started having the issues. I have tried another SD card with same results. Computer reads them, I can add files to the cards, but when I load it into the phone (while it's powered off), I start getting multiple SD card messages: Reading card, card is corrupted, card mounted, card unmounted, please eject card before removing (even thought it hasn't been removed). I agree with docknibbs, the update caused an issue with the SD card mount and read. All of these questions that you keep asking are not helping at all.
