Verizon Alternative?

Does anybody know of any other carrier that is being more sympathetic to this situation than Verizon? Since I don't really have a contract any more, just a phone contract, I'm free to choose any other carrier that I want. While I'd love to stay at Verizon, I'm not going to simply give them my Note7 and be told to have a nice day. I invested $400 to be able to upgrade to the Note7 and after turning the phone over to them, I'll have nothing to show for it. They want me to pay $800 for an S7 Edge and that's unacceptable to me.

Is any other carrier letting us trade in our Verizon Note7s and transfer our service to them and get a new contract price on a phone? Or offering us a $650 credit to get out of our "current contract" with Verizon? I'd rather stay with Verizon, but I'll switch to another carrier that is willing to make this right financially for me.

MRJones33, we don’t want to lose a valuable customer like yourself over this process of returning your Note 7. We always want our customers to be happy with us and their choice of phones. We are allowing our customers to return their Note 7’s and reverse their upgrades or choose to upgrade to another phone of their choosing.

You would also be refunded anything you paid for on the Note 7. So you would not be losing any money in the process. Upgrading to a different phone would be as if you just chose a different phone in the beginning, other than the Note 7. Please provide us with more details on why you believe this is not a fair option for you and our other valuable customers?

Great!! So you are saying that if I EXCHANGE, don't you dare call this an upgrade, for an S7 Edge I will still have my annual upgrade. As per your website the Samsung annual upgrade reads...

I also bought my note 7 in Aug....so how I also read your reply is that if trade into an S7edge it will be like I bought that phone back in Aug ...before the annual upgrade rules changed... I will also thank you for your comment.

Three different customer agents at Verizon said,

"No"

and they are sticking to that.

It would be nice if we had this option back. I really don't want to pay off 100% of a phone that I didn't intend to get in the 1st place. The "upgrade" is forced upon us as well as their new terms and conditions for installments.

Who in their right mind would ever make the decision to pay $400 to upgrade from an S7 Edge to.... an S7 Edge... and on top of that take on a payment plan for $800? That is dumb and stupid by every definition of the word.

To be fair, I didn't pay $400 to upgrade to the Note7, I paid $330. Which basically means the S7 Edge that I traded in was 2 months old.

I'll take a new S7 Edge IF it was already upgrade eligible and there was no 50% requirement. And I think most everyone else would agree that is a fair deal. We'd be paying Verizon $36 a month to use the phone until the next big thing comes out... and then we'd sign new phone contracts and such. That is fair if Verizon doesn't want to refund a true $330 right now. But making me pay $1200 to use an S7 Edge for the next 2 years is unacceptable.

Just posted on two other threads that I just found out AT&T has the Next Every Year plan that allows you to upgrade every year after 50% of the device is paid off and EVERY phone is eligible!!! Verizon you have major competition and are going to lose customers over this!

What Dbeak said in the last post is true. AT&T's Next Every Year program is essentially Verizon's Annual Upgrade program, but applies to ANY smartphone. They also have the V20 up for pre-order. I'm a new customer, no contract and now no device installment agreement to keep me here. We chose Verizon because we believed we were choosing the best. It doesn't really seem that way now. I have to give this some serious thought. I'm extremely disappointed with my Verizon options at this point and now even more so after learning this.

now becoming "car u hear that" .... it make sense. With this type of crises handling attitude... i won't be surprised ppl are moving away with frustration.

aacosta83, Let's make sure you have the best options possible. What phone do you have now? Are you having any issues with your phone? Why do you feel that this was forced on you?

I'm strongly considering another carrier. I hardly owe much on the only other line on my account and so many companies are offering similar rates/plans. I may consider sticking around if i could just keep my annual Upgrade option regardless of what "upgrade" phone I choose. Sorry Verizon but whether installed in the device or not, it's a selling feature that you, yes, Verizon chose to strip away from us.
