The latest Android security bulletin notes numerous CVEs that have been addressed in the latest Android security patch. It further states "Partners were notified about the issues described in the bulletin on August 05, 2016 or earlier". However, the current patch for the G4 is from July. Why are Android devices (in this case, specifically the G4) not receiving OTA security updates in a timely fashion? It is incumbent upon the distributor to keep these devices patched because (per terms of service) I cannot legally modify this device myself.
