How do I subscribe Mobile Hotspot?

Hi,

I am using LG optimus zone 2 since last October. Recently, I changed my plan to use 2GB data. I want to use mobile hotspot to connect to my the other phone but every time I turn mobile hotspot on, it says the services requires a subscription to Mobile Hotspot or Broadband connect. I do not know what all these are, and it says I can do it by going to "My Verizon". I visited but there was no description or instruction about subscribing the service. I really need to use data hotspot, so it would be great if you let me know how to subscribe and use my data. Thank you.

Do you have a prepaid account or a postpaid account? What is the exact name of your plan?

I've actually got the same problem on my new LG G Vista phone that has the 4G network for data. To answer the question you asked the original poster, I'm on a PrePaid account and the plan name is "$45 Smartphone Plan UNL Talk, Text & Data (Incl. 2 GB of High Speed Data). The option to use the mobile hotspot worked on my previous phone which was a Motorola Moto E that had the 3G network for data, but now on the new one I get the error of "Use of this service requires a subscription to Mobile Hotspot or Mobile Broadband Connect. To Subscribe..." then gives an option to either Go to My Verizon/Call Customer Service/Go to VerizonWireless.com, and if from a non-mobile phone call the following number (800) 922-0204.

I haven't tried anything other than the online stuff since I live in a dead zone for signal and would have to drive into town to get signal, but nothing that I've found online has really been of any help. Including the actual video that the Verizon website has for setting up mobile hotspot on my specific phone as it doesn't go over any errors one may encounter.

Okay so after having called the PrePaid Tech Support, what ended up having to be done for me to fix the issue of it saying you need to subscribe was they (guys at Tech Support) had to remove my phone from my account (basically deactivating the SIM card from the account altogether) and then they re-activate it as if it was a new phone on my account. After they had done that, I was instructed to then turn my phone completely off, remove the battery for 10-20 seconds, and then put it back in and turn it back on.

This actually fixed the problem altogether and I've not had any problem since they did that. So yeah, you can have a mobile hotspot on your PrePaid phone, but it has to be either the $45 or $60 plans and not the $35 one.
