Phone Dysfunction

Hello:

Last night the screen on my iphone 4S went dark. Apparently, the phone is working - calls come through, but I am unable to answer because there is no screen. Is the phone capult, or is there something I can do to get the screen working again?

Press side power switch and home button together for 5 seconds to force reboot. If that doesn't work, it is likely something hardware. You can take it to iPhone Fixit booth or store.

I think that you and my Aunt are some of the last few people that I know that still have an iPhone 4S! Ann did provide some good steps to try. Were you able to get the screen to power up that way? Do you know if you have insurance on your device? Any physical or liquid damage to the phone?
