Deceptive Iphone offers

Who else is frustrated with Verizon? Went to take advantage of Iphone 7 for $10/month that was supposed to run until end of today but they stopped the promotion and had to pay regular price. It was still offered on the web site intro page earlier today but I couldn't get the order to go through. Verizon you should make things right for all the people that tried to take advantage of this offer.

The iPhone isn't in the deal anymore but it looks like expiration time is about 1 day remaining for the deals on the phones available for the $10 per month with bill credit. Deals On Cell Phones, Tablets & Accessories | Verizon Wireless

My understanding is that it ended for the iPhone on the 21st (at least that's what I was verbally told in-store although I wasn't looking for that deal). I didn't see that offer earlier today for the iPhone...just the one where you can get it for $0 with trade-in that's been showing on the site for at least the last few days. Not sure if you will be able to get them to give you the deal you're referring to but it doesn't hurt to ask. You would have to talk directly to Verizon though. Were you not eligible to take advantage of the $0 deal with trade-in?

The Iphone was included in the same offer as the other phones and was to end at the same time

I tried to talk with someone on chat and she was unable to do anything to help me. I wanted to see if you could extend the offer since I wanted to wait because it was a Christmas present and I didn't want to disrupt my son's service.

Well apparently it didn't end at the same time and the deal is gone now.

It was included but I never saw anything that implied it was to end at the same time. A different iPhone offer was available before the end of the promo for the other devices so it seems pretty safe to assume that the end date for the iPhone was not the same. Unless you have something that shows the actual end date...but ultimately the offer is over. You never answered if you were not eligible for the $0 offer which was better than the reduced price offer (unless you didn't have a device to trade in that was eligible of course). Honestly there may not be anything that can or will be done about your situation now.

Elbert, THANK YOU for posting this. I was literally going to post the EXACT SAME complaint but couldn't until today because I was waiting for my acct to be approved for the verizon community. I visited a Verizon store on the 19th or 20th of this month. I was told by the verizon rep that the $10/mo phone deal was offered until the 24th. I also confirmed this date with a verizon rep over the phone. Verizon had 4 deals I was interested in. $10/mo for iphone 7, $15/mo for iphone 7 plus, $10/mo for galaxy s7, $10/mo for google pixel. As an example the iphone 7 cost about $27.08 per month but Verizon was going to give a $17.08 bill credit per month for 24 months hence the phone would only cost $10/mo. The deal was similar for the other phones. This was supposed to be the BIG GIFT my kids were getting for xmas and because of this I wanted to surprise them. I couldn't purchase the phones on 12/19 or 12/20 because the lines would be transferred and the surprise would be ruined so I was told to come back on the 22nd (that Friday) to purchase the phones. As you are aware Elbert Verizon pulled the rug out from under us and without warning pulled the plug on that deal on 12/21!!!! THANKS A LOT VERIZON! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!! I was relying on that deal and to pull the plug on it without warning is NOT COOL! I'm sure you ruined many Christmases with that [Removed] including mine. Not to mention when I learned of this I called Verizon and the rep blamed the incident on Apple only to learn later that it wasn't Apple's doing, it was VERIZON!!! I was planning on buying 2 iphone 7's, 1 iphone 7 plus and one galaxy s7. I was forced to by 3 iphone 7 pluses for my wife and kids because it was cheaper to buy them than the iphone 7 ($200 credit each once $10/mo deal was gone) otherwise I would have had no presents for my wife and kids. THANKS A LOT! If you want to keep my business I am requesting you credit my bills the difference I lost or send me the phones and deal I wanted to begin with. This is BAD BUSINESS and especially [Removed] to do around the holidays. Your timing couldn't have been any worse. If you don't correct this problem I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Limited time offers are just that. You cannot wait, and cannot count of the sale continuing just because sales personal say so.

Mamadogs, it sounds like you either work for Verizon or know someone who does. Otherwise, why would you waste your time chiming in on this topic? It wasn't a limited time offer where it could stop at anytime. It was a limited time offer that was stopping on the 24th and it wasn't just the sales person who said so. Verizon as a company said so. I know this because I called and spoke to numerous verizon reps both in person and over the phone. They all confirmed that the deal was supposed to be offered until the 24th and they all confirmed that lots of people were complaining for the same reason which is why Elbert posted this to begin with. You can believe what you want but that is a fact.

As long as you didn't turn it on and activate it, you would not have disrupted your son's service or spoiled the surprise.

The phone my Nephew wanted was on a special buy on Cyber Monday. I purchased it on Cyber Monday and he unwrapped it and activated it on Christmas day. I also purchased one of the other $10/month deal phones that was a Christmas gift weeks in advance.

I will say this much...I personally never saw where it said the iphone was part of the deal until the 24th and when I went to purchase my iphones (one on the 22nd for myself and then again in the 23rd because my mom just had to have one too lol...and all of this was after I initially visited the Verizon store on the 20th and was told about the deal) i was told I missed the $10 because it ended on the 21st. Not that I minded...I was using a deal via Best Buy that yielded me a $200 gift card that didn't require trade in Plus an additional $250 giftcard for trading my device in for a total of $450 (first time I wasn't interested in selling my device myself). So in all we got $900 in gift cards. Not sure why the reps I dealt with were clear on the end date in the Verizon store and at Best Buy but you were told something different...although honestly I'm not surprise. Verbal info from Verizon reps both in store and over the phone has been known to be less than correct so I rarely rely on verbal info. If I can't see it in writing via the website (where I'll screen shot it for reference) or via the email offers I receive then I don't agree to it because I know the risk of finding out later I was given incorrect info.

And no...I don't work for nor know anyone who works for them.

Employees are hard to miss. The have the VWCS after the screen name, and pour a lot of sugar on every post.

I'm not even a Verizon customer any more. They get better data service in my area, and I sometimes regret switching to ATT. But trying out Direct TV Now data free, so that's kind of awesome.

While I didn't save the online fine print, all offers have limited time offer in there. But nobody reads do they?

I ran into this same problem but chose not to pay the full price and left the store that day. Now Verizon does not even have any iphone 7 32GBs to purchase at full price and wants me to wait two weeks while it is on back order. Hard to believe AT&T is giving away free iphones when you switch and verizon can't sell one for at full retail price.

You can check your local Best Buy (if you have one). They were in stock of all colors and capacities at my local store (and the mobile only one in the mall)....so it's possible they have them in your area. And yes...you can purchase from them at full retail. I usually pay for my phones up front via Best Buy. Only reason I didn't this time was to get the gift cards...but I will pay the balance off in a month

Ahh see I looked into this option. If you purchase a phone at Best Buy, Verizon increases your smart phone access fee from $20 to $40 a month. Over two years that's an additional almost $500 versus buying a phone through verizon.

I can't comment on that as I don't have one of the current plans so I am not subject to anything like that. Never heard of an increase to your monthly phone access due to you opting to pay full retail for your device (I assumed you meant you were going to pay for it upfront) but maybe someone will chime in to give more clarity to that

A purchase through Best Buy would only increase the line access fee if the phone was purchased at the two year contract price. You can certainly purchase the phone at full retail price from Best Buy without affecting the line access fee.

I can TOTALLY relate! I called Verizon on Dec. 22 to turn off a home phone I was no longer using. Out of nowhere the phone rep began asking me about upgrading (I have an iPhone 6). On the spot she offered me a $200 discount on an iPhone 7. I told her that interested me but because I was going out of town having it shipped wasn't an option. She told me that was fine and I could go to the store. I went less than ONE HOUR LATER, and the store person had no idea what I was talking about. I called Verizon back and they said the offer was no longer available. Now, they made me the offer unsolicited, I did not ask for it! Nobody would honor the offer made to me despite repeated phone calls. The only reason I'm still a customer is because I am still grandfathered with unlimited data. When it's gone so am I. They either need to do what they say or not make the offer!

I just went to Verizon's website and this offer is still listed. It's in with the "specials" that scroll across the screen when you log onto their website.

The deal now is for $10/mo but with select trade ins however I have 2 of the phones they would have accepted so not only did I miss the initial offer of $10/mo with no trade in I now missed this offer and instead I paid FULL RETAIL for my phones. Good for you Reedjeffben. Maybe I will have the same luck. I bought 3 iphone 7 pluses at FULL RETAIL because I was given bad info. Only to find out if I waited they would have offered a similar offer. So basically I bought in a small window of time at full retail. NOT COOL!

This happens all of the time. They are constantly doing deals and they won't/can't tell you that in so many days a similar deal will come out. But historically there will be a deal right before Christmas and one in January. Not always the same or similar but some sort of deal. Last year I believe they did one where you could get the mid offering (at that time it was 64 gb I think) for the price of the lowest offering. Or the 128 for the price of the 64.

FYI. Target has an offer till 4/1. $300 gift card if you buy an iPhone 7. You can use it for any target purchase.

I just tried to get an iPhone, says I owe nothing with my trade in but all the documents say I am financing $799.

so deceptive and of course you can’t speak to anyone. Their chat line is a joke.
