My Android phone will not hold a charge or turn on.

FYI that isn't a "Droid" phone. It is an android phone, but not all Android phones are "Droids".
Yes, it does have a battery. I took it off clean the connections, it work for a little while and shuts off. I remove the battery several times and it will not turn on. now it frozen....
It might be time to consider purchasing a new battery.
Does it work fine (for a long time) as long as you have the charger connected?
Sometimes it will work for a while and then it like dead/frozen.
IF the phone turns off EVEN when it is CHARGING. Then it sounds like you are experiencing symptoms of the infamous "Boot Loop". The chip set in your phone is likely heating up and getting loose on the solder points which is causing a reboot. It may get to the point where it wont boot up at all. I recommend, if you can, to back up everything.
IF the phone only shuts down on battery. Your likely need a new battery.
