Activating iPhone 14 Pro

Hello! I’m looking to activate an iPhone 14 Pro that I purchased through Apple. I currently have an iPhone X and the automatic transfer/activation did not work.

I called a support number but it only gave me an automated process for either 3G or 4G devices with SIM cards.

Is there a support number for activating devices with an eSim?

A new phone is always exciting to have, and getting it activated is even better. You can activate the phone through your own My Verizon account by following this link: https://www.verizon.com/support/smart-setup/ , or by contacting Customer Service. You can also send us a Private Note here through the community forums for further assistance. However, you mention an automatic activation. If Apple helped to set that up for you, then you should first make sure the new and old phones are both powered off, then just turn on the new phone - make sure it is connected to Wi-Fi to complete the activation.

Thanks for the quick reply, Russell! I tried activating through My Verizon account but it hasn’t worked. I’m not sure if it’s because I have a prepaid device. I get a Sim error on the new device saying it can’t transfer the phone number.

Be careful. Verizon makes it difficult for you to transfer the SIM by yourself. On November 19, 2022, I had to go to a Verizon store to get my old iPhone X's SIM transferred to my new iPhone 14 Pro's e-SIM. Then Verizon started sending me "agreements" saying that I bought the new iPhone 14 Pro from Verizon (not true -- it was bought directly from Apple) and that I signed onto a new 36-month plan and will have to "return" the phone to Verizon if I don't want be locked into this new 36-month "agreement." I never agreed to anything at all; they just transferred the phone number and then I left the store. My online Verizon account now has a "Security Agreement" dated 11/19 saying that I owe Verizon $10 (yes, ten dollars) for my new iPhone 14 Pro, saying also that I will pay the $10 over 36 months, and saying that my new iPhone 14 Pro gets "returned" to Verizon if I default (let me repeat that I bought the phone directly from Apple, not from Verizon). This "Security Agreement" has a space at the bottom for my signature, and someone at Verizon drew a line in there, as if a pen was dragged across the space. I mean, at this point it's literally forgery. I have tried complaining to Verizon, but they make it impossible. I have filed complaints with the FTC, the NY Attorney General, the FCC, and the BBB.
