My voicemail notification on my Motorola Droid Razr (Android 4.1.2, Phone app v 4.1.2-5, Voicemail app v 2.0) only resets to zero if I call voicemail twice, will not do it after I hear all messages the first time. How do I fix this?
I'd love to help you figure this out, BoMc! Be sure to press * when exiting your voicemail to close out the system. This should trigger the notification to disappear. Also, have you considered switching to Basic Visual Voicemail? This would allow you to see the messages, and play them as needed, rather than listening through an entire system. Michelle,
Thanks for your response. Actually, I always exit voice-mail that way, press the asterisk at the main menu. It does work the second time, just not the first. In addition to the notification icon in the Android notifications strip at the top of the screen on the phone, the voice-mail app does not show the correct waiting message count until after the second call. It sounds a little to me like a problem in the voice-mail server for my account I'm not really interested in Visual Voice-mail if it involves an extra charge, which I believe it does. Do you have any other suggestions? It started happening a few months ago, I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for many years, have had my current phone for several years, but have never had this problem before.
Thanks for your help.
BoMc,The extra details are truly appreciated! Did anything change on your device around the time this issue started? What software version are you running on your device? LindseyT_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Lindsey, thanks for your response. I am unaware of any changes on my phone which may have caused this beyond routine updates to software via the Play Store. As for versions, I gave them in my initial posting but will repeat them: Android 4.1.2, Phone app v 4.1.2-5, Voicemail app v 2.0. Do you need versions for any other programs?
Any help you can give will be appreciated.
BoMc, Thanks for the additional details. I see the software has been updated twice since 4.1.2. Can you please provide us with your System Version from Settings>About Phone. Do you refresh the app after terminating the call to voicemail? May I ask, why are you calling your voicemail if you have visual voicemail? In visual voicemail, once you listen from the app, it removes them from your "new" folder. Ada,
Thanks for your response. The system version is 98.72.165.XT912.Verizon.en.US., and the System Updates selection in the About Phone settings page says that no updates are available. I don't have visual voicemail, see items #1 & # 2 above. If VZW is willing to provide me with free visual voicemail to resolve this issue I'll be happy to sign up, but my phone should work properly without it. :smileyhappy:
Any help you give will be very much appreciated.
Yale, good news. In response to your Direct Message question re saved emails, I cleared out my voicemail box (after recording one I've saved for about 8 years from my now 12 year-old daughter :smileyhappy: ) and the problem seems to have gone away. Thanks for your help!
