ASK-NCQ1338FA 3.2.0.18 doesn't allow firmware check?

The router admin page (basic or advanced mode) of this router under firmware 3.2.0.18 has no option to check for firmware updates. I see that 3.2.0.21 is available, and I'd like to try it, because 3.2.0.18 is flaky as (pick your expletive here).

Is there a way to force a firmware update check?

3.2.0.21 no longer offers the option, it appears, to manually upgrade the router's firmware.

There has been an issue with DDNS on 3.2.0.21 and was hoping to try this to see if this fixed it:

Software Version: 3.3.0.3

It is now over two months later and my router still has not updated. Was told with .21 and later it is now automatic and rolled out, but since they mention security updates as part of 3.3.0.3 it is really bad that over 2 months after fixes are rolled out they are letting vulnerable routers hang out on the internet.

The main issue I have with 3.2.0.21 is that the DDNS functionality doesn't work. It is discussed in another post here:

Using 3.2.0.21 there is no longer a way to actually check for a firmware update for this router. But based on the this website:

https://www.verizon.com/support/verizon-internet-gateway-ask-ncq1338-update/

there is now an update to 3.3.0.3 as of 12/14/23.
