#5ghomeinternet #promotionalxbox #returnpaymentfee
Hello, I have signed up with Verizon for the very first time in my 35 years. I had previously used AT&T or Comcast for my internet needs. The prices began to increase with those companies, so I decided I would go with the cheaper 5g options. I was debating whether I should get T-mobile for 50 bucks or verizon for 70 with the auto pay option. I got T-mobile, but then a couple of months later Verizon had advertised a promotion for a free Xbox Series X with signup. I canceled T-mobile and signed up with Verizon. Right off the bat, the billing cycle with Verizon is villainous and tyrannical. I never received my first month's bill, Verizon "conveniently" added my first 2 months together totaling $144. They tried to auto-take it out and I didn't have it in my checking account, I transferred from savings and paid my bill. The next month's bill came with a gnarly Return Payment Fee of $25. Really? Come on. On top of that, unbeknownst to me, I lost my auto pay status and my following bill was late! Which incurred another barbaric fee. Every bill after has been in the hundreds and I can't figure out how I keep incurring Return Payment Fees if Auto Pay is off? I really just want to cancel, but the contract stipulates that if I sever allegiance before 6 months I will have to pay the full cost of the Xbox Series X. Kinda shady business practice, kinda understandable in a capitalistic regime, completely narcissistic on behalf of this enterprise. Good day, fair people. You will get what you deserve, not-so fair people. P.S. Tmobile is faster and more reliable by far.

Hello, VerizonSheister45. Help is here as we can shed light on this fee. When auto payments are selected, when the attempt to pay the bill comes, if the funds are not available, it causes this fee to exist on the account. Just to confirm, did you suppress the auto payment option on the account or completely remove it all together?

I realize this is an old thread, but I had this issue and I wanted to vocalize my thoughts.
I work 7 days a week in a very busy environment; last month I attempted to pay my bill and accidentally used the wrong card on my account due to being busy at work and trying to pay between things. The card could not process the payment but I fixed it immediately with the correct payment method. This was not an attempt to dodge paying my bill, but I was fined $25 for this simple mistake, and in these current times where everyone is struggling financially, it feels kind of wrong that a mis-click is costing me so much. What financial damage is done to Verizon in this situation that would warrant such a large charge? Is there a way to discuss having this fee removed, especially since the payment method was adjusted as soon as I was made aware of the mistake? $25 may not be a lot to a billion dollar corporation but to me it’s quite a lot.

We are sorry to see there was a payment return fee applied to your bill due to the banking concern. I will send you a private message so we can take a look in to this with you.
