5G Home Internet Blocking Access for Google Hub News

PatrickDickey52761

My issue is very similar to the one listed in https://community.verizon.com/t5/5G-Home-Internet-Archive/5G-Home-Internet-Blocking-Access/td-p/1276... except that I have my Internet Gateway set to IP Passthrough mode, which means the firewall shouldn't be a factor. Added to this, I am unable to log into the Internet Gateway using LAN 1 (as the instructions say if you want to switch off IP Passthrough), so I'm unable to change the firewall settings.

My network looks like this  Internet Gateway --> dumb switch --> pfSense Firewall (not the issue as I haven't made any changes to it that would affect this)  --> NAT Router --> Google Hub and other devices. Technically I'm running a double NAT but this hasn't been an issue with my other ISP. I would rather not have to set up all of my IoT devices on the Verizon Internet Gateway's wireless router if I can avoid that, as it would force me to reconfigure my entire home network setup (I use 192.168.2.x for my home network already and want them separate).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend. 🙂
Patrick.

Hi, there,

I just signed up for the Internet service a week ago. So it started as soon as I plugged in my network. The issue was resolved as soon as I plugged my network into my current ISP. I have some questions. Is the IoT network only a 2.4 GHz network, or does it also have a 5 GHz network option? How many devices can connect to the IoT network (I have a total of 16 devices connected to mine currently)? The same questions also apply to the Guest Network. I'm still debating as to whether this is worth the effort that it will take to reconfigure my network, as I would only be saving about $15.00 a month.

Have a great afternoon. 🙂
Patrick.
