Billing timeline

Can someone help me with how the billing timeline works? I signed up for 5G service on 1/1/24. I then completed my auto-pay settings on 1/14/24 and saw I had $80 due which I paid assuming it would cover January. I then had $80 auto debited on 1/16/24, with no auto pay discount applied (though that's a separate issue). My question is did I prepay for February? I've had the service two weeks and I've paid for two months already?!? Is that mid month payment taken to pay for the upcoming month or the previous month?

Aw8pj, helping clarify your billing concerns is important. Our billing works on a 30-day cycle which begins when you activate service. Based on what you shared date wise, you began service on the New Year. We do have billing occur at the start of the cycle, with the due date closer to the end. Auto-Pay also usually bills a few days before the due date as well. Auto Pay discounts can take 1-2 bill cycles to apply, please let us know if you have additonal questions.

If billing begins at the start of the cycle then when I submitted payment on the 14th shouldn't that have covered January? Why did it still auto bill on the 16th?
