C band but not fast?

I just got 5g home internet +. I am in  a C  band location but can barely get more than a 250 Mbs speed. I tried the Verizon wizard that helps you find a location for the gateway and it says my signal is excellent, 73db. But...my speed is much slower than what I expected.

Is it being throttled or are my expectations wrong?

Hey there, charleyrich99, we certainly want to make sure you're getting the most out of your Home Internet service! With your plan and services, you can expect up to 300 Mbps upload speeds with typical speeds of 85-250 Mbps.

What speeds were you expecting?

I get slightly over 300Mbps (down) and my average signal strength is -64dBm. I believe that faster speeds are possible, but I can see the telltale signs of throttling. However, that's expected and normal behavior as the service is advertised at "up to 300Mbps".

at the store, they said if I was in C band I could get up to 1Gb.  I was hoping for at least 500 Mbs. The store personnel said that 300 MBs for 5g plus was just a low ball so that they didn't over promise.

Verizon 5G Home Plus Internet can exceed 300Mbps in some areas, but it's very dependent on your address. I won't second guess the retail store folks (I'm just a customer, too), so I'm not sure what cities even have that level of service.

What kinds of speeds are you seeing (download and upload)?

I was hoping to get up to 500mbs.  I am in a C band location with 5g mmWave.  That should allow speeds up to 1 GB.
