Cannot connect to work VPN with Verizon Router

Hello,

I recently got a new job which requires me to connect to a VPN to access shared drives  and launch various programs. The issue is that when i try to connect to the VPN while on my home internet Wifi I am not able to access the internet at all. If I connect to Wifi somewhere else or use my phone hotspot I have no issues.

I was reading on this site earlier and saw a post from another that had the exact same issue Im having.  He mentioned that after posting he received another router as supposedly the one he had was defective.

Ive linked to that post here-   https://community.verizon.com/t5/Other-Network-Discussions/Cannot-Connect-To-Work-VPN-Using-Verizon-...

Could I also get in contact with someone who can help me sort this out?

If anyone else has this issue they should reach out here as well or on the post  linked as well.

Thanks

If you are using the GlobalProtect VPN client (Palo Alto Networks), then there's a known issue that there is a solution for. Please check out my post here if you are using the GlobalProtect VPN client. It will help.

Note: You didn't mention if you are using a Windows, Mac, or other computer. That info will be helpful if you aren't using the GlobalProtect VPN client from Palo Alto Networks.

Also, what was the response from the IT folks at your new employer? It's not surprising that you're being left on your own to solve this problem, but they should be a critical first step in helping solve this issue for you. After all, it's connecting you to their organization resources so you can do work for them.

Know that I say that's what should be happening but that I've spent over 25 years in the technology industry and I understand the reality of the situation. In so many organizations you would be told it's your problem because they don't support your home Internet.
