Ethernet connection on Gateway model ARC-XC155AX slower then WIFI

OldMan-justTrying

I set up my 5g Gateway Model ARC-XC155AX and if I connect directly to it I am getting +/- 300mbps.  If I plug my Orbi mesh system to the ethernet port and connect via the Orbi I am only getting 30mbps.  This doesn't make sense because I was getting >300mbps with my previous internet provider.  Help!!  I would like not to have to cancel the 5g internet and go back to my previous provider.

We are sorry to read that you're having issues with your connection. In this case, if this only happens with the Mesh system, it could be a problem with the compatibility of the mesh. Does this only happen when you are using the mesh system?

Hard to say because this is my home network setup.  I have an Orbi 850 and a 16 port bridge.  On my previous provider I got >300mbps.  Now connected to the Verizon Gateway I am getting only 30mbps (wired or wifi).  If I connect my phone to the Orbi network I am getting 30mbps.  If I connect my phone directly to the Verizon Gateway radio I get 300mbps.  Seems like there should be a configuration setting that should solve this.  I am not sure how I could check this other than what I have done.

Thank you for sharing all of those details with us, OldMan-justTrying. UInfortunately, 5G/LTE Home Internet service is not able to pair with Google Mesh or Orbi Mesh systems, which is likely the reason you're seeing the drop. We cannot guarantee compatibility with any 3rd party Wi-Fi extenders. Are you finding that you need more coverage in your home, as we do offer Wi-Fi Extenders to help when needed?

Yes, that was the purpose for getting the mesh system.

I appreciate that you "offer" extenders, but I have tried to reach out to order one on line and it won't even let me order it because they are not in inventory locally!!!  I can't even place it in the shopping cart!  I have been on a chat for the last 30 minutes with a Verizon representative and they are not making any better progress.  If this is the case, I just as soon stay with my existing ISP and return the Verizon router!!!!
