Extender not working

I have the home internet service and received the extender this week. After pairing with the router using the enclosed cable, both the router and extender had solid white lights. After unplugging the extender and moving to a low signal area, the extender stays with a solid yellow light. Tried 5 different locations with the same results. I have chatted with 6 different reps over 3 days and got nowhere. Any ideas? How do I get through to a tech rep who understands the extender/router relationship?  Thanks in advance

Hello, Papamac1942. Thanks so much for this info. Help is here. I do need to confirm and clarify some info. You originally had the extender and router in a location that provided a great signal, correct? But you then moved it causing a lower signal? Is that correct? Is there an issue to put it back in the original location? Please clarify as we want ot ensure we are not misunderstanding.

You have to be putting the extender too far away, or expecting wifi to wifi to work miracles, which radio frequencies are unable to do.

You have not said how far you are moving the devices from each other - walls/distance are very important. Or run ethernet cable. I know people don't like to run ethernet cable thru their house or pay for it, but way more people need to. I did!
