IP Passthrough Issues

I recently got Verizon 5G Home Internet, I have a very large home and so I need to place extenders. It is my understanding that I need to put the router into Passthrough mode. However, when I do, my ASUS XT9 says that it doesn't recognize any signal or cable coming from the modem.

The light on the router remains a solid green. I have plugged into LAN 2 into the WAN of the Router.

I see that others have mentioned Passthrough issues in the past after a firmware update. Has this been resolved?

Thank you

The issues they are referring to are about TCPMSS and MTU - not "ethernet not being detected."

I have an ASUS router with the ASK-FA in IP pass through mode.  I did all my setup with an ethernet based laptop to make sure everything was working first before plugging it into the ASUS router though. I would suggest you do the same. (Set it up on LAN 1, turn on IP passthrough, put laptop in LAN 2, make sure it pulls WAN IP and can surf - then plug into WAN port of ASUS router and reboot both devices.

Once you get that part and basic connection, then you can research on TCPMSS.

IP passthrough isn't required - but you'll have double NAT (Network address translation) and programs/XBOX's/etc's that need incoming connections will not work properly (But surfing and all that does)
