Nintendo Switch & $200 Target Gift Card Promotion Issues

Hi all,

I like many was enticed into 5G home internet  services by the Nintendo Switch & $200 Verizon gift card program with a redemption date of 5/12, but when I went to check on this the tiles had disappeared (I have included screenshots of communication to this post). I was so skeptical of this promotion that I asked for clarification of what I can expect after starting services.

 I called Verizon today and was told that apparently the redemption timeline is no longer 65 days and is in fact 5-6 months. The customer services agent was extremely helpful and kind. However I was for sure lied to by the sales team and other agents, and the tiles disappeared because they can no longer fulfill this promotion in the timeline they originally communicated.

I was told my request was escalated, but I will still have to wait over a month for a solution. Looks like I am going to start shopping for a new internet provider with a lower monthly cost and will likely not wait around for this promo to roll out. Classic example of a company writing checks that customers cannot cash. I also won't get a response to this, because they know its true!

Thanks checking that, luckily we've been able to correct the issue that you and others were encountering. If you've previously tried to claim a reward and weren't able to, please do the following. 

 

First, clear your cache on your browser you use to access My Verizon. Then go into My Verizon, and claim the reward please. If you've received a redemption code already for a specific reward, then the original tile you used to claim it  won't be appearing in My Verizon. Since you got the redemption code it clears out.. In those cases, please use the steps in the received code email to use the code to redeem the reward.

All apps are up to date, and this does not populate on the web version.

I have not received an email in either my inbox or spam. My email listed on my account is correct.

If possible, I would like a response to my issue today. It seems there is rarely any follow ups to messages in the replies.

The same thing happens to me.  I was eligible to redeem my switch on my 13th.  I have not received it yet.  I have spoke with 100 different agents all telling me something different.  I have submitted my id to the fraud department and they still can’t send me the switch.  They sure didn’t have a problem sending me the modem and the extender.  I am so upset over this .  I signed up for internet with Verizon because of the promotion.  I’m about to cancel and tell everyone I know to do the same.

Yes I have the  my verzion app and in my account it say Nintendo switch order confirmed shipping will be updated soon and it has said that since May 13th.  I have contacted support  about 50 times and everyone says something different.  Yesterday someone from fraud told me something crazy and would not give me a number to someone I could speak with.  This is crazy… yall had no problem sending me the modem and the extender.

Thanks for those additional details. You mentioned you have a modem. To make sure we’re on the same page, what service did you sign up for? Was this wireless LTE/5G Internet or Fios?

Nintendo Switch went through but nothing happened after I clicked  Target $200 gift card redeem button.

I regret so much switching to Verizon and now it’s so difficult to claim the Nintendo Switch promotion. I wish I would have known this ahead of time. I recently started contacting Verizon to claim the promotion but they are such a waste of time. I will be canceling my account with them and I for sure won’t switch to their mobile services.

@vzw_customer_support  I was also told that I'd get the Nintendo switch plus $200 gift card when I purchased 5G home internet and switched our plans on 2/17/24. I have yet to receive any email or any tile indicating that I can redeem these two offers. I'm so disappointed by this.  I even contacted the sales rep at the store and no response yet.  It's been over 65 days which is what I was told I'd have to wait to get the emails then I was told its going to just take a little longer.  It's been 5 months. No emails about the offer.  Nothing.
