So I got the newer 5g home Internet plus the day after Christmas ( the newer tall xbox-like rectangular box one ASK?) while I was getting my phone upgraded. I was out of town so I had to wait till the weekend for setup.
I am trialing this on my setup that I use for gaming, streaming videos on second monitor, for my smart home devices, and for my wife to watch shows all at the same time to basically see if it can handle it. My home gets UW Band 5g fine.
Go to set it up and I get the red blinking light. Speak to tech support and it was never actually added to my account in the store so it couldn't be activated.
They tell me to either send it back or take the brand new Internet box back to the store because they had no way of doing that over the phone. Are we serious right now? IT GETS BETTER!
Go to the store yesterday to exchange it and do you know what they do. Give me a new Internet box and tell me to throw away! the brand new one that wasn't added to my account and won't activate that I got on Dec. 26th. Are you serious?
I tell the sales rep why I am trialing this Internet and he flat out lies to me about speed capabilities saying it will get 1gig to 1.5gig on UW Band 5g no exaggeration he said that. I go home set it up and yeah it wants to go over 300 on tests, but it's limited and throttles to 300. 300 won't do in my home setup at all. So I take it out.
Check my emailed .pdf bill this morning and it says plainly up to 300 85-250 typical. I'm taking it back today and if I get any additional charges or other nonsense I'm going to be very upset.
I honestly feel like I deserve a bill credit for this back and forth hassle and feel like y'all need to figure out better ways to not waste brand new perfectly fine Internet boxes.
