Switch Primary Line so I can cancel

I have two home internet plans as we used to use two lines. One of the two has been unused for many many months as we no longer have use for it and I’ve tried several times to cancel the line, both in person and via support and it seems that no one can do it or no one wants too and every time I try it’s a multiple hour ordeal with no resolution.. The line I want to cancel is the primary account and the one I want to keep is the secondary, at this point it seems easier to just cancel both lines and get internet elsewhere as I am currently paying $80 a month for a line we don’t use. The main reason I want to keep the second line over the first is the gateway is newest and capable of newer wifi standard which is important to our uses. I figured as a last ditch effort I’d ask here. Both lines are 5g home plus.
