I have the verizon gateway (1200mbps (1.2gig) wifi 6, 5ghz) yet i get no where near that. funny part is i dont use wifi. and me not using wifi isnt the problem, ethernet is faster, common knowledge. i use a ethernet cable with a 1gig port connect to my laptop and router side its plugged into the 1st lan port set to 1000mbps (1gig) high-duplex. and its not my ethernet cable, my ethernet cable supports up to 2.5gigs. im only getting an average speed of 250mbps which is horrible for what i do. along with that my upload speed is the same as my download speed. it is really slow and with that comes high latency. and i am the only person connected to it, and if someone else is connected i have them forced to the 2.4g band. false advertisement or is it just a coincidence? its one or the other because before i went to verizon i had at&t's 1200mbps plan and i was getting way over 900mbps.

Oh, no! Dealing with service issues can be frustrating, especially when you are having speed issues. Verizon is here to help.
When did the issue start? What recent changes have you made? Who else is experiencing this problem?

Try running a speed test with Verizon's test first. It will perform a test by having your router perform a speed test to Verizon's server, in order to prove the connection between your ONT and the router is good, as well as to the Speed Test server in Verizon's network. Then it will perform a test between your computer and the Verizon speed test server.

What model router are you using? It sounds like it may be a CR1000A or CR1000B based on your description.
Do you pay Verizon for 300Mbps service, 500Mbps service, or 1Gbps service? Check your bill/account to see what it says. AT&T sells similar Fiber speeds to Verizon on the lower end.
EDIT: AND just to make sure. This is for Verizon FiOS, not 5G (Wireless) Home correct? This thread is filed as 5G service.
