Coverage map shows 5g uw but never get it and really slow speeds

So on the interactive coverage map, it shows that I am in an area covered by 5g UW.

But I only get lte coverage and it’s very slow speeds if it does display the 5g uw icon.

At work literally 3 miles away works fine.

Any solutions? iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The super fast 5G which you're getting at work is definitely 5G UW and I'd say that's high-band 5G.  The limitation of high-band 5G is that the radio waves don't travel very far at all...about 1500 feet.  The tower(s) by your home most likely have some combination of 4G LTE, low-band "regular" 5G, or mid-band 5G on them because most people don't want a cell tower in their backyard.  The low- and mid-band 5G radio waves travel longer distances, so provide better coverage, but the tradeoff is the data speeds will be slower.  Low-band 5G doesn't go faster than 4G LTE assuming LTE isn't congested.

Same problem here my friend .

Only thing you can do change your phone internet to  3g/4g on settings.

It will be slower but you will get signal.

Hello! We are here to help. Please tell us, is the software up to date? Are you connected to Wi-Fi or using your plan data?

This isn't your phone, it's Verizon.  Long story short, some of the towers can't keep up with current data demands. The one by your work is obviously up-to-date if your 5G UW is fine there, but either there's too much traffic on the other tower where you're having the slow data or the cells on the tower need upgrading.

JHerald, we understand how important data speeds are and we want to make sure we are providing the best details to assist. Can you share with us what type of plan you have for the line in question? Does this occur during all hours of the day or only during certain days/times?
