My family has not been able to get 5G service on our 4 phones (2x S23, S22, S21) for at least a couple of months now. I thought it would be corrected, but service has just gotten worse. I've spent hours on the phone and chat with Verizon support going through all of the troubleshooting steps several times: resetting the phone, changing to an eSim, resetting the phone, changing back to the physical Sim, resetting the phone; still no joy. One of the techs told me that they were upgrading the network, and it should be fixed in a few weeks, but a couple others said that's not the case. The last tech tried to gaslight me, and said that even though it says 4G-LTE, it's really 5G performance. The slow performance and poor call quality is all in my head. We have two towers visible from my house, and we used to get 5G consistently until a few months ago.
What is going on, Verizon?

We're sorry to hear that you're having problems with your service in Lakewood. Having reliable service is a big part of any mobile carrier, and we don't want to let you down. Would you please provide us with a ZIP Code or a crossroads so we can take a closer look at the area? How far do you need to travel before you notice improvements?

I live ~100 yards from W Morrison Rd & S Youngfield St. There is a tower on that corner, and until about 4-5 months ago I used to reliably get 5G and good call quality from home. I never see my phone showing 5G anywhere anymore, except for the few minutes when the tech I was talking to enabled something on his end and my phone showed 5G-UW briefly, until he had to disable it again.
My son's phone showed 5G about a mile north of here a few days ago, but then switched to 4G as we got closer to home.

Thanks for those details. You mentioned running into an issue with slow data and call quality. Is this happening mainly in your home area or no matter where you go? Are you having trouble both indoors and out?

What’s up with UW in Lakewood being super spotty? Heck, I can see a cell tower and I’m lucky to get 1 bar of regular 5g.
id switch to Verizon home internet but not before this gets fixed

We want to make sure you're getting the best service possible, and we're sorry for the issues you're having. Apart from 5G not showing on your phone, how do your calls, texts, and data perform? What model device are you using?

Thanks for getting back to us. Your device can work well in 4G. What zip code are you in? What speeds are you seeing? -Joe

Apps and web pages are frequently sluggish, and call quality is poor. Often when I call someone, they can't hear me at all, but I can hear them. I have to try a few times before getting a good enough connection to communicate.
Interestingly, my phone started showing 5G again today about 1/2 mile north of my home; it still drops to 4G and stays there within 1/2 mile of my home(showing 2 bars signal now). I didn't get or make any calls today, so I don't know if the call quality is better.
