When I am in the vicinity of my granddaughter's school my cell phone is not getting an internet connection. This is a recent development because just two weeks ago it was working fine. I tried to find out how to turn off 5g in the hope that maybe I would get a 4g signal but that didn't work. I have a new Samsung S23 Ultra that I've only had for about 3 weeks and my wife is having the same problem with her similar phone. As soon as I get about a half a block away, the internet starts working again.

The school could be blocking internet access to encourage students to pay attention in class and cut down on cheating during exams. My brother's employer blocks access to Gmail at the workplace as another example.
