Since my AT&T business landline went into orbit on cost I have since purchased a second iPhone. At the store they eventually were able to switch my existing Version cell number from the old iPhone to the new one. The rep installed a sim card in my old phone (I previously had none, nor needed it) and I believe he began the process of porting.
Naturally I am a nervous wreck not only from the astronomical AT&T bills suddenly but the whole porting process. He said I would get a text message on the newly activated phone when the number was ready to go and that I should call 611 when I get it. It's only been two business days. How long does it realistically take? Is there any way to determine if it's at least in the process? I only worry because I was given zero paperwork not even for the credit card purchase of the sim card and whatever else added to about $50.00.
