Unable to activate Hulu

Trying to activate my Hulu account I get the error message, "We could not complete your request right now. Please try again later.". I spoke with Verizon, Hulu, and Disney and they are all pointing the finger at each other. Apparently the Hulu account is tied to an email address that does not belong to me, and Hulu is unable to do anything with it.

Was told by Verizon that deactivating my bundle and reactivating after 24 hours should resolve this issue. This was not the case.

After searching the internet it seems to be clear I need to get assigned a new Reference Number from Verizon. Can someone at Verizon please give clear instructions on how to resolve this issue?

Verizon private messaged me and opened up a support ticket. Have yet to hear back from support about this issue. Searching online says I need a new Reference Number, not sure why this is such a hard thing to do?

Hi there. Once you enroll for the Disney Bundle via your online Verizon account, you do have to log into the online Disney+ account to activate both the Hulu and ESPN. It does have to be done from a Web Browser, and not the Disney+ app. You will find the Hulu and ESPN under profile settings. Have you done all of this yet?

This was done. However when logging in to Hulu it was activated to a different email address. I have contacted both Hulu and Disney, and they inform me there is nothing they can do to change it.

 

The last time I spoke with Verizon they said to deactivate my bundle and reactivate in 24 hours but that still didn't work. After seaeching online others have said that Verizon needs to issue a new referance number for my bundle to work

Yes this has been provided. However the reference number is tied to the wrong email, and Hulu is unable to change this. Currently the only way forward is to get a new Reference number for my Verizon account.

Thank you, jChild45. The reference number is generated during your initial set up. We do not have a way to assign you a new reference number. You mentioned a support ticket was opened. Have you received any results on this ticket yet?  -Danielle

Yup! A window pops up saying  "We could not complete your request right now. Please try again later.

Go back to Disney+ and try again."

I have tried on my web browser, tv, and phone. Same thing not able to whatever at this time. No problem with Espn or Disney, just can't activate Hulu.

I have followed all steps. I get an error after logging into my account. After talking to Hulu support they inform me that my account is tied to a different account, of which is one I do not own. Disney support is also unable to help. Verizon said they would have their technical support reach out to me which also not happened.

Are you able to provide further assistance than is provided on your website that also does not work?

I'm sorry you've been having trouble trying to activate Hulu. Just as a quick reminder, when enrolling in Hulu, you need to use the same email address and password as used with Disney+. I also reviewed the information on troubleshooting these issues, and for Hulu specifically, they do need to be contacted to troubleshoot the Hulu account activation. I am also annoyed!!!!! This hulu activation does not work!!!!! Verizon needs to stop adverstising this in thier bundle offer. Hulu never worked and I have tried everything under the sun and it still does not work!!!!!! Stop telling people there is a bundle that includes Hulu!!!!!

When it comes to verizon accessing the Hulu app, you can create a new user on the Hulu account, you have to set the profile up through the bundle steps. If you access the Verizon side, and log in to Disney+, and sign in, and go under manage see sign up for Hulu from there you can use your existing account, or you can create a new one. If you use an existing account you have certain steps to take for Hulu. Also make sure that the Hulu was not created by someone else on the account as well.  *Rhonda

Nope none have been able to help.  Been told by Verizon that they cannot issue me a new ID and have basically stonewalled me. Was told I would get reached out to by customer support but that also hasn't happened. Only way I see it now is I just drop the plan and maybe in the future upgrade the plan? This all makes me reconsider staying with Verizon.
