I am having the same issue. I tried registering with a different email. I was able to get logged in and set up autopay. Hours later, I logged in and was prompted to unregister that email due to no lines associated. I logged in again with the old email and got the same error message as the original poster.

If your service is for mobile or the 4G/5G home internet cube, what happens if you try to create a new account using the phone number as if you'd never had an account? I'm pretty sure what happened is you ended up with a guest account instead of a "real" account because your service was not yet activated or maybe the system hadn't refreshed in time to reflect you joined when you first started using the My Verizon login. If the system doesn't let you make a new account, then someone at Verizon will have to delete your guest account so you can then re-register.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
