If you created your My Verizon account before you got your service activated, then what happened was you ended up with a guest account. Have you tried to create a new My Verizon account using your phone number or whatever the system is asking for during the registration process as if you'd never made an account ever? If the system is blocking you from making a new account, then a Verizon agent will have to de-register your current My Verizon account and then you'll be able to re-register and will have a "real" account.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
