Is my phone being tapped?

On two different occasions now, I've heard details of text messages coming from someone to whom those texts weren't sent. This concerns me because I send a lot of texts to my boss for work, and I discuss information in them that is private. I've looked into remote tracking spyware apps and I'm not tech savvy enough to know what to be afraid of. Some of them make it sound as though anyone with access to your phone number can install anything they want and read every text and listen to every call.

What do I need to know about this kind of thing?

Does the someone who is giving you details about text messages they didn't receive know the person who did receive the text messages?

No, and that's the problem that's making me paranoid.

Basically, I'm not tech-savvy enough to know what to believe. When you look up spying apps, their websites make it sound as though anyone with your phone number can hook you up with an untraceable program that can't be detected or removed, leaving you open to someone being able to read every message you send, listen in on every phone call, and so on and so forth.

If anyone knows, I'd like to know how valid those sites' claims are and what I can do about it if they are legit. I already have McAfee on my phone, but again, those sites make it sound like there's no program out there that can detect the latest spying apps.

Dont put anything personal in writing anymore.

i dont know of any app that can clone a person's text messages. more likely your private matters are being discussed when you aren't around.

Not that I know of.

I'm wondering if it could be a situation where, when you send a text to more than one person at a time, for some reason when one of those people wants to have a conversation with you alone, their replies go to everybody you sent the message to initially. If that was what did it, how do you stop that from happening again? Spying apps are kind of exotic, but when I started to look into it, what I found was really scary.
