Anyone else have this issue? This happens even in great signal areas and seems to only affect iPhones (everyone around me with Droids or other devices have no problem). It sux cuz my data slows to a crawl **bleep** near making it unusable (think dial up). Switching airplane mode on and then off or restarting the device is a quick temporary fix, but then it just does it again. I have the most current iOS software update as well. *228 only works as a quick fix too. This just starting happening in the past couple of weeks and I've had this phone since February. Any ideas?

The "Clear Temporary Internet Files iPhone 4" link provided timed out every time I tried it. Are you sure the link is correct and working?

I checked the link and it worked so the link is correct. It's basically telling you to go into settings, go to Safari. scroll down to the box that says "Clear History/Cookies/Cache" and do each one.

Have you reprogrammed the phone to the Verizon Wireless network? Dial *228, option 1?

Then update your roaming list (PRL) by dialing *228, option 2.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Good morning oxzide.

I know personally, I would not be happy if I had one of the nicest, yet slowest phones around.  Have you had a chance to do any other troubleshooting other than the basic troubleshooting you described in your post?  You mentioned you checked the software; therefore, it is a strong possibility that the memory may be full or running low on your device.  This could be why the signal is becoming lower.  You can follow the steps at in the Clear Temporary Internet Files iPhone 4 link.  Once you have finished, try restarting the device to see if the signal and speed are working better for you.

Thank you,

I clear history, cache, and cookies frequently since I check bank accounts and work related websites on my phone. I'm beginning to think it's just an iPhone thing. I always use wifi when available. 3G service has always been great in my town but this phone just doesn't stay connected to 3G well. My old Incredible never had this problem. I guess I can deal with it for awhile longer since iPhone 5 and some powerhouse droids like the Bionic are right around the corner.
